Resumen

Los pacientes diabéticos experimentan un aumento gradual de la presión arterial y durante la progresión de la diabetes, la instauración de hipertensión arterial es considerada frecuente, incrementando el riesgo cardiovascular y el desarrollo de complicaciones vasculares. El consumo de alcohol en pacientes con diabetes e hipertensión arterial ha mostrado efectos dependientes de la dosis y de los periodos de consumo. Lo anterior nos conduce a preguntarnos ¿cuál es el efecto del consumo de alcohol en pacientes con diabetes e hipertensión arterial?
