Aspergillus, a fungus with a dual personality: hidden engineer and silent saboteur
Keywords:
Aspergillus, toxins, enzymes, biotechnologyAbstract
"Just because I am bad it doesn´t mean that everything I do is bad…". That phrase has been said by a lot of movies villains, but is also something that someone who´s been misjudged could say, mostly for causing sickness, damaged crops and toxins production. Nevertheless, that organism can produce enzymes and compounds with industrial value. This organism has a distinct morphology full of filaments, ballon-shaped heads and messy hair-like structures. Do you know who I am talking about? That’s right! It is Aspergillus!
