Abstract

Knowledge of the gut microbiota has transitioned from being an exclusive medical term to become a topic of general interest. Information about the importance of maintaining eubiosis, avoiding dysbiosis, and consuming probiotics and prebiotics is increasingly widespread. But do we truly understand what these terms mean? Are such products safe? Are they a solution for medically unexplained conditions? If you’ve asked yourself these questions, read on to learn more about this increasingly relevant subject.
